It’s a game that players really love, a game made for fans that is making a comeback today thanks to KT Racing and Nacon. And we wanted to relaunch this great franchise because there’s no real equivalent at the moment.
I know the Test Drive Unlimited franchise really well because I worked on the first Test Drive Unlimited, Test Drive Unlimited 1. So we developed the new Test Drive Unlimited concept by keeping the DNA of the game, but also evolving the gameplay and game modes to make them more modern and more in line with current trends and what today’s players find fun. We wanted to give players a variety of things to do and the freedom to progress through the game however they want. We wanted to ruse this name and the championship’s concept, which is not a closed championship where the player is restricted to doing certain things. Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown releases in 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.You may recall that the “Solar Crown” is the name of the competition we had in the previous Test Drive Unlimited game. We have yet to get a proper deep dive of the gameplay, but we imagine Nacon wants to get it right and make sure it looks great before launch. Solar Crown will transport players to the enormous Hong Kong Island and offer them an assortment of cars to drive around the open-world, partaking in missions and races. This laid the foundations for games like the Forza Horizon series. Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is the long-awaited return of the Test Drive Unlimited racing series, which was among the first open-world racers on older generation consoles to push massive worlds and unending freedom. It’s unknown if the Nintendo Switch version will also be cancelled, but we expect the announcement might happen soon. Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, the anticipated return of the Test Drive Unlimited series, was previously slated to release in September 2022. Additionally, the game’s PS4 and Xbox One versions have been dropped too, meaning the open-world racing game will now launch only on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC. Publisher Nacon has delayed Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown to 2023 after it was planned to release this year.
